La Roque Gageac

I Wish I Were Here

I'll do a quick Daydream Destination today. It has been cold and gross here again, it even snowed last Sunday, and I found myself daydreaming about canoeing the Dordogne River in France. Last summer, I spent a week in that region. One day I took a 2 hour canoe trip from Vitrac to Beynac, where my group rented a cottage. It was one of the best things I have ever done.

The water is clear and calm. Trees line the banks of the river and around each bend is a new, breathtaking, lush vista.

It's easy to stop off at all the small, historic towns along the river and get a bite to eat or walk around and do some sightseeing. The whole experience is enchanting.

I have a few posts planned about the Dordogne region and I will definitely do a longer post about my canoeing adventure. It's a gorgeous area and I would love to go back one day.

I know I'm a bad blogger lately. I've been busy with work and job hunting. Lately, I've wished there were more hours in the day to do everything I want and have to do.

Actually, I really wish I could make traveling and writing about it my job. I love this blog and have thought about all the posts I want to do, so I'm not going anywhere. I might just be a bit slower with the updates.

Today someone I follow on Twitter retweeted this quote from RunningQuotes:

Never give up on something that you can't go a day without thinking about.

That "something" for me is definitely travel. Writing about places and having this space with which to do whatever I want has been incredibly satisfying and fulfilling for me even though I'm still feeling my way through it.

I would be happy doing it even if no one visited, but I am thankful when anyone takes the time to look at it. Thanks to everyone who has left a comment or just stopped by to look at pictures. I'm so inspired by the comments and the new travel-loving bloggers I've been introduced to over the past few months.
